CONTEMPORARY DANCE
In movement we experience our anatomy. What is the logic behind the organization of our moving body? We will experience this in practice. We play with muscle tone, with the balance between strength and release, we experience the arsenal of movement qualities we hold. We experiment with time and space and investigate how they influence our dancing body.
Each session works from a physical focus, zooming in on a movement principle or body part and working towards play, improvisation and creation. Always with the goal of getting to know our movement system more deeply and expanding our possibilities for expression and movement.
Işıl's approach to movement research is inspired by anatomy, kinesiology, Alexander technique, Bartenieff technique and Laban technique. Every single person has a unique movement signature. Her aim is helping people to discover their own distinctive expressions and then enriching their own movement vocabulary.
